CTV has covered BUY LOCAL SAVE LOCAL in 2009, and other media have picked up our story. Among them are the WEEKLY NEWS and Daily Business Buzz and the "Globe and Mail" had a great article in their "Report on Business" about saving money which featured us on Dec 11th, 09.

We are a benefit provider to all members of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, who will receive a free listing for their business as a member of the Chamber.

101,000 households received a 4-page special feature in the WEEKLY NEWS on Feb 25th, 2010 introducing participating businesses and the Discount Card Program to the residents of HRM.

Thank you to the ENTREPRENEUR FORUM for kindly providing councel and support to us as immigrants in expanding this local business initiative.

"Thank you so much" to all our local friends and supporters, for your advice, encouragement and prayers to make this dream come true. Within a few months we have grown to over 80 local businesses accepting the card.

Here is a bit about the WEDGECARD:

Wedge Card is a new way to get discounts/savings and special offers from hundreds of local shops and independent businesses. We aim to re-vitalise local communities by offering a reward to customers choosing to shop locally. We launched in Central London in December 2006.  At Wedge we know that individually we might be small, but when we all come together, we're rather big and tall and our bite is just as big as our bark.
